The Word of God
We believe that the Word of God is fully inspired and without error in the original writings, and was written under the inspiration of God the Holy Spirit, and is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct as preserved in the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. (2 Tim. 3:16,17; 2 Pet. 1:20,21; Mark 13:31; John 8:31,32; John 20:31; Acts 20:32).
The Trinity
We believe that there is but one living and true God, the Maker, Sustainer, and Ruler of all things, eternally existing in three persons; that these are equal in every divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, and redemption (Gen. 1:1; Gen. 1:26; John 1:1-3; Matt. 28:19; John 4:24; Rom. 1:19,20; Eph. 4:5,6).
God the Father
We believe in God the Father, first Person of the Trinity and Creator of all things, who is an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that He orders and disposes all things according to His own purpose and grace, and that He infallibly foreknows all that shall come to pass. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ (Gen. 1:1-3; Psa. 145:8,9; Luke 10:21,22; Matt. 23:9; John 3:16; John 6:27; Rom. 1:7; 1 Cor. 8:6; Eph. 3:9; 1 Tim. 1:1,2; 1 Tim. 2:5,6; 1 Pet. 1:3; Rev. 1:6).
God the Son
We believe in Jesus Christ, second Person of the Trinity and God's only begotten Son, who is Himself deity. We believe that He possesses all the divine excellencies and in these He is co-equal, co-substantial, and co-eternal with the Father, without beginning or end. We believe that God the Father "made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is," according to His own will by His Son, Jesus Christ, by whom all things continue in existence and operation. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, and performed many miracles. We follow His teachings as found in scripture. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death on the cross, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven after being seen of many witnesses, His perpetual intercessions for His people, and His future, personal, visible and bodily return to earth (Matt. 1:18-25; 20:28; Luke 1:26-38; John 1:1; 10:30; 14:9; 20:28; 30,31; Acts 1:11; Rom. 5:6-8; 6:9; 9:5; 2 Cor. 5:21; Eph. 1:4; Col. 1:15-17; 1 Tim. 3:16; Heb. 1:2; 7:25; 9:28; 1 Pet. 2:21-23).
God the Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, a divine person, eternal, possessing all the attributes of personality and deity, including intellect, emotion, will, eternality, omnipresence, omniscience, omnipotence, and truthfulness. In all the divine attributes He is coequal and co-substantial with the Father and the Son. We believe He came from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, seal and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that He indwells every believer in Christ, and that He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide (Psa. 139:7-10; Isa. 40:13,14; Jer. 31:31-34; Matt. 28:19; John 14:16, 17, 26; 15:26, 27; 16:7-14; Acts 1:8; 5:3,4; 28:25,26; Rom. 8:9, 16, 26; 15:13; 1 Cor. 2:10-13; 3:16; 6:19; 12:4-6, 11; 2 Cor. 12:4-6; 13:14; Eph. 1:13; 4:3, 13, 30; Gal. 5:22-26; Heb. 9:14; 10:15-17).
Salvation
We believe that mankind was created by God in His own image; that he sinned and thereby incurred physical, spiritual, and eternal death, which is separation from God; that as a consequence, that image has been corrupted and all human beings are born with a sinful nature and are therefore under condemnation. We believe that those who place their trust in the atoning work of Jesus Christ as Savior and repent and forsake sin are miraculously and immediately regenerated by the Holy Spirit and become new creatures in Christ, delivered from condemnation and receive the free gift of eternal life which is by grace, through faith, and not of works (Gen. 1:26; Psa. 51:7; Pro. 28:13; Jer. 17:9; John 1:13; 3:14, 16; 5:24; 8:12; 10:26; Rom. 3:19; 5:19; 8:1; 9:22; 2 Cor. 5:17; Eph. 2:8-10; 2 Thess. 1:9; Jas. 1:14; 3:9; 1 John 1:9; Rev. 20:10).
The Church
We believe in the church, which is the living, spiritual body of Jesus Christ who is the head , and all persons truly born again are its members. We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers who have covenanted together in Jesus Christ, baptized by immersion on a credible profession of faith, and associated for regular worship, work, and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the important task of taking the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world with the primary and ultimate goal of glorifying Him alone. We believe that the local church is independent and must remain free from interference by any ecclesiastical or political authority (Acts 1:8; 2:42; Rom. 14:7-9, 12; Eph. 2:19-22; 5:19-21; 1 Tim. 2:5; Heb. 10:23-25).
Christian Conduct
We believe that a Christian should live for the glory of God and the well-being of his fellow man; that his conduct should be blameless before the world; that he should be a faithful steward of his possessions; and that he should seek to realize for himself and others the full stature of Christian maturity (John 14:15; Rom. 12:1-3; 1 Cor. 4:2; 10:31; 2 Cor. 9:6-9; Col. 1:9,10; Heb. 12:1,2; 1 John 2:3-6).
The Ordinances
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances (figures of salvation) to the local church, that of baptism and the Lord's Supper. We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of the believer in water in the name of the Triune God. We believe that the Lord's Supper was instituted by Jesus Christ for commemoration of His death. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of Christ (Matt. 28:18-20; Rom. 6:3-5; 1 Cor. 11:23 -26).
The Last Things
We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to the earth to establish His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal happiness of the righteous in fellowship with God and the endless suffering of the wicked in the lake of fire. We believe that physical death involves no loss of material consciousness, that there is a separation of soul and body, that the soul of the redeemed passes immediately into the presence of Christ, and that such separation will continue until His return. (Matt. 16:27; Mark 14:62; Luke 23:43; John 14:1-3; Acts 1:11; 1 Cor. 3:11-15; 4:5; 1 Cor. 15; 2 Cor. 5:8, 10; Phil. 1:23; 3:20; 1 Thess. 4:13-5:11; 2 Thess. 1:7-10; 2 Tim. 4:1; Titus 2:13; Jas. 2:26; Rev. 6:9-11; 20:4-6, 11-15).
